Audio OP Amp Raises Performance Bars

Audio OP Amp Raises Performance Bars
Texas Instruments (TI) Inc.

Overtaking the boundaries for professional and portable audio, the OPA1622 audio operational amplifier (op amp) claims to set the standard in audio performance higher. Delivering an output power up to 150 mW, total harmonic distortion (THD) is specified as -135 dB at 10 mW. Other features include a quiescent current of 2.6-mA per channel, linear output current of 80 mARMS, power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of -97/-123 dB at 20 kHz, a unique pinout that simplifies design and improves distortion performance, an enable-circuitry design that limits output transients when the device is transitioning into or out of shutdown mode, and a 3 mm x 3 mm DFN package. Price is 2.90 each/1,000.
