Analog I/O Modules Speak From The HART

The SNAP-AIMA-iH and SNAP-AOA-23-iH two-channel analog input and output modules rely on the HART communications protocol to extract status, diagnostics, and other information from smart devices. The SNAP-AIMA-iH analog input module has two isolated 4- to 20-mA input channels, and the SNAP-AOA-23-iH output module provides two isolated 4- to 20-mA output channels. Each channel employs a HART modem that allows the channel to communicate digitally with the HART FSK (frequency-shift keying) signal imposed on the current loop. Also, each module includes LED indicators to provide status information. Price for either the SNAP-AIMA-iH or SNAP-AOA-23-iH module $599 each. For development, the SNAP PAC .NET HART developer toolkit is available for free at the company’s website. A datasheet for both modules is available at http://www.opto22.com/documents/2080_SNAP_Hart_Modules_data_sheet.pdf.
