AlwaysOn Selects EoPlex as GoingGreen 100 Award Winner

REDWOOD CITY, CA /PRNewswire/ -- EoPlex Technologies, the advanced materials company that manufactures miniature devices to harvest, conserve, and manage energy, announced that it has been selected by AlwaysOn as one of the GoingGreen 100 Top Private Companies in 2007. The first-annual elite GoingGreen list was compiled by the AlwaysOn editorial panel. To be eligible, companies had to be peer-nominated, with AlwaysOn receiving more than 500 nominations from venture investors, investment bankers, and other industry experts.

"The AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 companies will accelerate the global movement to a more sustainable environment," said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "The ideas and innovation we saw as we reviewed hundreds of clean technology companies will be foundational to the next wave of economic growth in California and beyond. My congratulations to each AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 winner. These are the companies that we predict will have the greatest market traction, strongest innovation, and most game-changing approaches this year."

EoPlex Technologies Inc. will be honored at the AlwaysOn GoingGreen Conference to be held at the University of California in Davis from September 10–12. GoingGreen is an executive gathering highlighting the significant impact that clean technologies have on new economic growth and in sustainable use of natural resources. The idea behind the GoingGreen 100 Top Private Companies list is to identify the most promising entrepreneurial opportunities and investments in the clean-technology industry. Winners were selected on five criteria that include innovation, market potential, customer adoption, media buzz, and value creation.

EoPlex manufactures miniature custom mechanical, electronic, fluidic, and chemical components from ceramic and metal materials. The EoPlex technology can produce highly complex parts using combinations of materials in each part and at low cost. The EoPlex approach is being used to produce a variety of devices, such as a hydrogen fuel cell reformer and energy harvesters to power the new wireless tire pressure sensors. The EoPlex process is a true platform technology providing the ability to manufacture complex components at low cost that were previously impossible to produce at any price.

In addition to the GoingGreen award, EoPlex recently won the Frost & Sullivan Technology of the Year Award in Specialized Manufacturing and was named by Gartner Group to its "Cool Vendor" list.

"We are delighted to be recognized by AlwaysOn and to be named among the GoingGreen top 100 companies," said Arthur Chait, CEO of EoPlex. "A central part of our vision is to offer innovation in materials science that helps to enable new clean products and process."

About EoPlex
EoPlex Technologies Inc. produces components using innovative deposition techniques based on custom printing equipment and proprietary inks that carry ceramic, metallic, or polymer materials to millions of locations. This allows the manufacture of components with integrated chambers, channels, sensors, circuits, reactors, energy scavengers, and other features. Many parts are created simultaneously in large panels, and the only tooling required is low-cost printing masks. As a result, there is great flexibility to change designs quickly, allowing fast time to market and even modifications during full production runs. EoPlex is a privately held company based in Redwood City, CA, and is backed by ATA Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Labrador Ventures, and Draper-Richards.
