The LTC3769 synchronous step-up DC/DC controller replaces the boost diode with an N-channel MOSFET to increase efficiency and maximize output current capability. The device produces 24V with up to 5A of output current from a 12V input with up to 98% efficiency. Other features include an input voltage range of 4.5V to 60V during start-up, operation down to 2.3VIN after start-up, outputs as high as 60V, 28-µA quiescent current, and an operating temperature range from –40°C to 125°C. The LTC3769 is available in 20-lead TSSOP and 24-pin 4 mm x 4 mm QFN packages. Price starts at $2.75 each/1,000. For more information, visit http://www.linear.com/product/LTC3769
