32-bit Digital Signal Controllers from TI
Texas Instruments (TI) Inc.
Texas Instruments Inc., Dallas, TX, introduces 3 new members of its TMS320C2000 digital signal controllers (DSCs) optimized for motor control, digital power conversion, and intelligent sensor control. The controllers include the TMS320F2802 Flash-based controller and custom ROM-based TMS320C2801 and TMS320C2802. All devices feature PWM technology with 150 ps resolution, 16 bits of accuracy in a 100 kHz control loop and 12 bits at 1.5 MHz, and a 32-bit wide data path with a mixed 16-/32-bit instruction set. The DSCs integrate control system capabilities through an onchip ADC, quadrature encoder pulse, timer captures and compares, and 16 independent PWM channels.
