The Model 4020 from Dytran Instruments Inc., Chatsworth, CA, is a microprocessor-controlled 3-channel signal conditioner for charge-mode and IEPE sensors. Used with charge-mode sensors, the unit incorporates a charge amplifier; used with IEPE sensors the units incorporate an integral 4 or 10 mA, user-selectable current source with 20 VDC compliance voltage. Programming input and output sensitivity enables automatic amplifier gain calculation with gain selections stored in nonvolatile memory. A microprocessor sleep mode eliminates high-frequency clock noise. The device uses 12-bit DACs for each channel to set amplifier gains from 0.00-999.9 with 0.5% precision.
